Birch trees 1
8" x 10"
Acrylic on framed masonite board
This was produced at a "Sgraffito" workshop that I took.
Sgraffito painting involves painting the canvas in lots of different colours then after this layer has dried, you apply white (or other colour) paint on top of the first layer. Before this layer has fully dried, you carve off shapes which reveals the colours underneath. You definitely use lots of white paint! This technique is also used in ceramics.
It was fun using venetian blinds to create these birch trees.
Masonite is easy to frame in a simple picture frame!
Art cards and prints also available.
This art card would work especially well as a Christmas / New year card.
